Hi and welcome to Time To Unwind.
My name is Caroline and I am a wife to Matt and mum to three children: Charlie, Max and Daisy. After many years of teaching and working in schools, I decided on a change of career and chose to go back to college myself and study Reflexology. I wanted to find a better balance between work and family life while still working in a job where I could help people. I am now a fully qualified and insured reflexologist, a member of the Association of Reflexologists and working from a peaceful treatment room in my home in Lincoln.
Reflexology aims to optimise your physical and emotional health. I cannot diagnose or cure but by applying gentle pressure to areas of the hands or feet, reflexology can support your body in restoring its own natural balance. Whether you are looking to improve your mood or sleep, reduce your tension or stress levels or would just appreciate a little 'me time', my aim in working with you is to bring a sense of calm and relaxation, and facilitate your body's own potential to heal and balance itself.
Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health therapy which works on the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands corresponding to all of the organs, glands and different parts of the body. Stimulating these areas with a gentle pressure can assist wellbeing in a safe and natural way.
It is a holistic therapy which means it treats the individual as a whole, aiming to create harmony in both body and mind. It has the benefit of being a deeply relaxing therapy during which time the body takes the opportunity to heal, restore and energise itself.
Reflexology can be received by anyone at any age, from newborn babies to those receiving end of life care and everyone in between. It is important to remember well trained reflexologists do not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe and reflexology should not be considered an alternative to conventional medicine. Instead, it can be used safely alongside standard healthcare to promote better health.
Reflexology is a wonderful way of maintaining your body's healthy balance and general wellbeing, reducing the stresses and tensions that come with busy lifestyles and giving us a space to reflect on the mind as well as the body.
Reflexology can induce a deep state of relaxation, which improves the effectiveness of the treatment. Relaxing helps relieve tension and aids circulation, increasing the flow of nutrients, oxygen and energy to all parts of the body, and helping with the removal of toxins.
The systems and organs of the body are mirrored or reflected in the hands and feet. Reflexologists use specific finger and thumb techniques to work these areas, bringing them back into balance and thus aiding the body to work as well as it can.

I am qualified to Level 5 CRM5 Diploma MAR with the Anahata College of Reflexology, widely regarded as one of the best in the UK. I am fully insured and a registered member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR registration number 32323) so you can be assured of a professional treatment – and a friendly welcome!
Reflexology is cumulative so the more treatments you have, the greater the benefits you’re likely to experience. Regular weekly treatments are best to start with and benefits can often be seen after 4-5 sessions. This is very much down to you though and is something to discuss at your initial treatment. Some clients come weekly, some fortnightly, three weekly or even monthly.
Your first visit will involve an initial consultation where we discuss your medical history and what you are looking for from reflexology. After you remove your shoes and socks, I will give your feet a quick refreshing wipe and apply some lotion. I will then work over both feet and lower legs with a gentle pressure. You lie back, relax and just enjoy the treatment. Many clients relax so much they fall asleep!
Reflexology is very gentle and relaxing, however there can occasionally be some sensitivity felt. This usually indicates an imbalance or congestion in an area of your body, as reflected through your feet, and shows me that I need to give that reflex a bit more care and attention.
With ever increasing levels of daily stress, it is more important than ever for people to take responsibility for their own health. One way is through reflexology which can be a way of mitigating everyday stresses and strains. It is a very individual treatment which is tailored to you as a whole person, taking in to account physical and non-physical factors which might be affecting your wellbeing. The best way to find out if it helps is to try it!
Most people feel a sense of wellbeing and relaxation. Occasionally you may experience lethargy or feel emotional, but this is usually short-lived and reflexologists believe this is part of the healing process and shows the treatment taking effect. I have had many clients saying they had a great night’s sleep after their treatment and is one of the reasons they love coming!
Please feel free to contact me below if you have any questions, or to ask about booking reflexology sessions. Alternatively, you can call me on 07722285324.
